4-Day Snæfellsnes & South Coast Minibus Tour
Tour Description
This multi-day tour combines some of Iceland’s most popular regions into one practical and scenic journey. Starting in Western Iceland, you’ll explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a region known for its variety of landscapes — from black sand beaches and lava fields to volcanic craters and glacier-covered peaks. Highlights include the Snæfellsjökull Glacier and the dramatic coastal cliffs that inspired Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Next, the route continues through the Golden Circle, where you’ll visit three of Iceland’s most famous natural landmarks: Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site marking the meeting point of two tectonic plates; the Geysir geothermal area, home to erupting hot springs; and Gullfoss, a powerful two-tiered waterfall.
The journey then heads to Iceland’s South Coast, known for its contrasting features. You’ll visit Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, the striking Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, and finally, the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in Vatnajökull National Park. Here, you can see floating icebergs and take part in a guided tour into a natural blue ice cave, located within Europe’s largest glacier.
Each evening, your guide will share the Northern Lights forecast and suggest nearby viewing spots if conditions are favorable. The itinerary is designed for travelers who wish to experience Iceland’s geological diversity and natural beauty in a well-structured and efficient way.
