Tour Description

This 6-day guided tour around Iceland’s Ring Road features the Golden Circle, the dramatic South Coast, and the serene East Fjords. You will visit Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss Waterfall. The journey continues to the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and the volcanic landscapes of Lake Mývatn. The tour concludes in Akureyri, the capital of the North, offering a complete overview of Iceland's diverse geology and scenery.

This 6-day Ring Road tour is a practical way to see the most famous natural sites in Iceland without the stress of driving. The journey begins in Reykjavík and heads to the Golden Circle. Here, you will see where the Earth’s tectonic plates pull apart at Þingvellir, watch the Strokkur geyser erupt, and view the massive Gullfoss waterfall.

As we travel along the South Coast, the landscape changes to lush farmlands and rugged cliffs. You will see iconic waterfalls and the Reynisfjara beach, known for its dark volcanic sand and basalt rock columns. A major stop is the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, located about 5 hours from the capital, where you can see large icebergs floating toward the ocean.

The tour then moves through the remote East Fjords, a region of steep mountains and small fishing villages, before reaching North Iceland. In the Lake Mývatn area, you will explore the Dimmuborgir lava formations, which were created by volcanic activity thousands of years ago. The trip ends in Akureyri, the largest town in the north.

To make the most of your time, several activities are included, such as a glacier hike, an ice cave visit, and a whale watching boat tour. For those wanting more, optional extras like horseback riding or thermal bath visits can be added during the booking process. This tour is designed for travelers who want a factual and organized introduction to Iceland's geography, ensuring you see the highlights of the island in less than a week.

Map and Itinerary

Day 1: Golden Circle Wonders

Our adventure begins with an early morning departure from Reykjavík as we set out on the classic Golden Circle route. You’ll witness Iceland’s geothermal wonders, thundering waterfalls, and historic landscapes. In the evening, we continue toward the South Coast for an overnight stay in the countryside. Perfect for Northern Lights viewing in winter.

Please note: The itinerary is subject to change due to weather, road conditions, and availability of activities. Your guide will always ensure the best and safest experience possible.

1

Meeting and greeting from Reykjavik

Your 6-day adventure starts promptly at 8:00 AM in Reykjavík; after meeting your group, you will begin a comfortable minibus journey through the Golden Circle, complete with local stories and photo tips from your guide.

2

Þingvellir

At Þingvellir National Park, the first stop of the day, you will witness the stunning sight of volcanic fields and mountains blanketed in snow. This UNESCO World Heritage site is uniquely beautiful, showcasing the exposed North American and Eurasian tectonic plates moving apart and holding significant cultural heritage as the founding location of Iceland's first parliament in 930 AD.

3

Bruarfoss Waterfall

Often considered a hidden gem within Iceland's breathtaking landscapes, Brúarfoss is famous as "Iceland's Bluest Waterfall."

While it may be smaller than other famous cascades, its unique beauty lies in the serenity of its setting. The silky, sapphire-blue waters create a surreal landscape as they cascade over dark lava rocks. This vibrant blue stands in stunning contrast to the surrounding black rock and the bright green moss, making it a picturesque location perfect for nature lovers and photographers seeking to explore Iceland's untouched wilderness.

4

Haukadalur

Next, we visit the Haukadalur Geothermal Area, a lively valley where the famous Strokkur geyser erupts every few minutes, shooting hot water high into the air. This stop allows you to experience the powerful energy of Iceland's nature up close, and you will also see the Great Geysir, which named all geysers worldwide.

5

Gullfoss, The Golden Waterfall

The Golden Circle itinerary will end at the famously stunning Gullfoss ("The Golden Waterfall"), where the Hvítá glacial river dramatically plunges down a 32 meter drop across two tiers, giving the entire route its name.

Optional: Horseback Riding

Wrap up your day with an optional, peaceful horseback riding tour on a gentle Icelandic horse through the quiet countryside (Note: this activity is not suitable for individuals over 120 kgs or those not in good physical health).

6

Accommodation: Drangshlid Hotel By Troll.is (or similar) with breakfast

Your minibus will then transport you to your accommodation ,typically Hotel Drangshlid or similar accommodation. Enjoy a warm meal, relax in peaceful surroundings far from city lights,
